REC Qualifications
Our professional, accredited qualifications give you in-depth knowledge and practical skills to succeed in recruitment and progress in your career.
The REC has a comprehensive and robust examination system to ensure that every learner receives the appropriate result for the standard of work they have produced. However, if you feel that the examination result issued to you is inappropriate, you may appeal.
Learners have the right to appeal their examination results to the REC as follows:
If you wish to appeal, please download the Post-Examination Appeal Process and email or post it to the REC Awarding team, within six weeks of the results having been issued.

The appeals service is chargeable but fully refundable if the outcome is in the learner’s favour. Appeals take approximately three weeks to process.
Please note that with any appeal, the outcome can result in grades being lowered as well as increased.
In line with other professional examination bodies, we do not disclose actual marks or the final percentage boundaries between grades. Originals or copies of examination scripts and question papers remain the property of the REC at all times, and are not returned to candidates in any circumstances, nor are they made available to any third party.
If you wish to defer an examination to a later date, you may be offered an opportunity to take the next available examination. There will be a £148 + VAT fee for this transfer.
Please contact us on +44 (0)207 009 2155 or email qualifications@rec.uk.com if you can no longer attend an examination due to unforeseen circumstances.
Deferrals will only be considered if the proposed deferred examination date is within 12 months of the original examination date. If the deferral takes the proposed examination outside of this, a full enrolment fee will become applicable.
Please note there is a strict six week cut-off point to request a deferral, prior to each exam date. Any request received after this deadline can only be processed after the exam day, and this will result in you being logged as a no-show for the exam in question.
Resits
If you wish to re-take the examination, you must complete the resit form and submit the examination resit fee (£148 + VAT).
Students who failed the Level 3 Certificate in Recruitment Practice (QCF) after August 2014, have the option to have single unit resits, at the cost of £75 + VAT per unit. Please note that if you choose this option, you will only be allowed to resit one unit per published examination date, in February, May, August or November. Please also note that this option only applies to resits.
Examination Re-Sit or Deferral Forms
Alternatively you are able to book and pay online, for a Resit only.
Results are issued by post only and will not be released by telephone or email.
Your results are sent to your preferred address (as per your Enrolment Form) to arrive on the published date.
The grades are awarded as Fail, Pass, Merit or Distinction.
Employers often request that we send them their employees' examination results. We do not do this automatically but we will send your examination results to your employer if they request that we do so. If you do not consent to your employer receiving your examination results, you need to inform the REC team on +44 (0)207 009 2100 or email qualifications@rec.uk.com as soon as possible.
If you have any special or medical requirements with regards to attendance of the examination, whether the need arises from a disability, medical condition or you have special educational needs, please let us know no later than four weeks before the exam by contacting the REC on +44 (0)207 009 2100 or qualifications@rec.uk.com. We may not be able to accommodate requests received after the four-week deadline.
We recommend that all candidates read these guidelines. The REC Awarding Organisation (RECAO) will assume that every candidate has read and understood these guidelines. Misunderstanding will not be accepted as a valid reason for any special consideration. For any queries about these guidelines, please email qualifications@rec.uk.com.
