The compliance assessment is made up of a series of multiple choice questions covering industry legislation. The assessment can be completed over a 24 hour period, and takes around 45 minutes to complete. The number of questions in the assessment ranges between 26 and 48 depending on the type of recruitment carried out.
The assessment has been designed so that agencies only answer questions that relate to the type of business that they operate in. To pass the assessment agencies must achieve at least 80%. If you are supplying work seekers to work with vulnerable people, you must also answer all the "red flag" questions correctly.
Only the compliance contact in your company will be able to see and access "Take the Compliance Assessment" option. If you have any issues please speak with the compliance team compliance@rec.uk.com
Only recruitment agencies that have passed the online compliance assessment are able to use the REC logo, including within tender and marketing documents.
New corporate members have three attempts to pass within three months from the date they are invited to take the assessment - this will usually be when initial payment has been received and the relevant checks have been undertaken. The first attempt must be taken within one month of receiving our invitation. When you log into the assessment it will ask you if you are adopting REC’s contracts or retaining your own. If you wish to continue to use your own contract you’ll need to upload them so that we can check they are compliant.
