Redundancy process and related documents for employers (20 or more employees)
MS WordV2 August 2020
Use these documents when carrying out 20 or more redundancies.
Collective redundancies occur when more than 20 redundancies are being made at a single establishment within a 90-day period. There are strict consultation requirements when conducting collective redundancies and these vary slightly depending on whether the overall number is:
- Between 20 and 99 redundancies; or
- Over 100 redundancies.
This document deals with both categories: it explains your obligations when making employees redundant, how the statutory consultation process works and the steps you need to take to ensure that the process is fair.
Our redundancy guides have been updated to include changes made to the JRS Scheme around redundancy payments and notice payments.
We have also included links to updated versions of government guidance.
