Model Letter - Maternity leave letter from employer to employee
MS WordUse this letter to acknowledge receipt of an employee's notification that they want to start statutory maternity leave on a certain date. You must send this letter to the employee within 28 days of receiving their notification.
- Do not use this letter if you offer contractual maternity leave in excess of the statutory minimum - you'll have to use a bespoke letter to let them know their contractual entitlement
- Do not use this letter for temporary agency workers - they're not employees so aren't entitled to statutory maternity leave. Our factsheet about maternity rights for agency workers provides more information.
