It was a big week for the Comms, Marketing and Policy & Campaigns teams here at REC HQ, we launched our Training for Temps campaign, pushing for the Apprenticeship Levy to be broadened to allow recruitment agencies to spend their levy funds on their temporary workforce.

We were featured on page 2 in the Financial Times, which highlighted all our key messages from the campaign, including the huge amounts of money – over £100 million – which temp agencies are currently unable to spend due to levy restrictions.

The story was also covered by the Independent, where they highlighted the almost 1 million temps who could benefit from reform to the Apprenticeship Levy policy.

Overall we secured almost 30 pieces of coverage, including on LBC radio throughout Monday, in regional papers like the Lancashire Telegraph, Bolton News and Newcastle Journal, and online in Times Educational Supplement, Personnel Today, Government Business and Recruiter, among others.

Today, we also published our latest Report on Jobs, which showed that permanent recruitment is continuing to decrease slowly amidst all the uncertainty around Brexit. This survey was picked up by a number of major publications including Reuters, the Telegraph and MailOnline, as well as the i, the Coventry Telegraph, the Scotsman, Staffing Industry Analysts and Business Insider.
