REC raises members' issues with new Industry Minister
Government and campaigns
REC CEO Neil Carberry attended the Professional Business Services Council with new Industry Minister, Nusrat Ghani MP today. During the meeting, Neil took the opportunity to highlight a number of issues REC members are facing and followed up with a letter to the Minister.
In the letter, Neil highlighted the REC’s ongoing concerns with the new digital right to work checking system and the Home Office's lack of engagement, despite several letters and emails from the REC about this. Neil also raised concerns about rogue umbrella companies, some of whom are pressuring workers to use their services, putting compliant agencies at a competitive disadvantage. He called on the department for Business, Energy, and Industrial Strategy (BEIS) to push for regulation and enhanced enforcement of umbrellas to address this.
