

Much of the current suite of employment legislation just isn't reflective of modern working practices, and updating some key pieces of regulation would provide a crucial boost to the UK labour market.
Many of the regulations need updating to be more inclusive of different forms of work, like agency work, and to better protect people and their employers in how we work today and to futureproof us in work.
After all, it is over 50 years since the Employment Agencies Act 1973 was introduced. Imagine how life would look if that same approach was applied elsewhere. For instance, computer games would still look like Pong (ask your parents, actually – grandparents!)
