Gearing Up for #TREC2018
Government and campaigns
We are less than two weeks away from TREC 2018, the Good Recruitment Campaign’s flagship event and now one of the talent community’s well-established favourite conferences.
It’s going to be bigger and better than ever before, with more attendees benefiting from the highly participative nature of the event. We’ve got three great keynotes lined up - Jo Youle, Lucy Adams and Google Dave, plus a stellar line up of panel debates and round table discussions.
Chairing the first panel will be the Work and Pensions Secretary Esther McVey MP, who also chaired the REC’s Future of jobs commission last year. This debate will explore the impact that machine learning and the adoption of AI will have on jobs, and how employers should respond to the challenges and opportunities generated with tech advancements.
The second panel will cover the future for the in-house resourcing function, and this has been added to the agenda in response to popular demand. This panel will be led by the indomitable Johnny Campbell from SocialTalent.
We have fantastic panellists to join Esther and Johnny, including Neil Morrison the HRD from Seven Trent, Juile Welch the HRD at Bunzi, and Kevin Blair, talent attraction supremo at IBM.
The most popular part of the conference is without doubt the 16 round tables in the middle of the day - while always a logistical challenge it’s the part of the event that attendees love. The discussion topics have driven by input from companies involved in the Good Recruitment Campaign, and each one has expert facilitator to lead the conversation.
We expect the candidate experience and employer brand discussions to be very popular, but we also anticipate a great turnout for tables covering diversity and recruitment tech, as organisations seek to learn from what others are doing in these areas.
The hashtag for the event is #TREC2018 so if you’re joining us please share your excitement and learning so that others can benefit. If you’re not able to make it keep an eye on the feed for the highlights. I’m looking forward to seeing many of you at the Grand Connaught Rooms in Covent Garden on the 4 July.
