Successful Recruitment Entrepreneurs Share Secrets of Their Success Via REC

Press releases

Strong motivation and bouncebackability are key characteristics of successful recruitment entrepreneurs, according to new research published today by the Recruitment and Employment Confederation (REC).  7 Secrets of a successful recruitment entrepreneur is a practical guide featuring interviews with successful owner-managers within the industry. It aims to encourage entrepreneurialism in recruitment, by motivating recruiters to tap into their own and their staff’s entrepreneurial spirit to help grow their businesses and become more successful.

REC chief executive Kevin Green says:

“For owners and entrepreneurs who want to grow their business, the next few years will provide an exciting opportunity to achieve scale. Competition will remain fierce and recruiters seeking to grow their businesses will need to find ways to improve their profitability by demonstrating value to clients while remaining compliant and operationally robust.

“There is no one right way to success, but this research offers some key insights and advice that we hope will help our members be smarter and sharper about overcoming challenges and making the most of opportunities.”

Chief executives and founders of recruitment companies including Phaidon International, Arrows Group and Green Park contributed to the report. The seven secrets of a successful recruitment entrepreneur defined and explored in today’s report are:
1. Understand what motivates you
2. Be different
3. Define and deploy strategy
4. Invest in infrastructure
5. Build a strong team
6. Learn how to bounce back

Alongside today’s report the REC is launching a new campaign called ‘Scale Up’ to support recruitment entrepreneurs who want to grasp the opportunities that economic growth is bringing.
