The Results Are in for the Certificate in Recruitment Practice
Press releases
Hundreds of recruiters spent a tense week waiting for the results of the recent exams for the Certificate in Recruitment Practice – and now the results are in!
Students from around the UK and as far afield as Iraq sat the exam, and an impressive 85.8% of the 176 students passed.
The student who scored the highest mark among those 176 was Sarah Rosenthal of Deerfoot IT Resources Ltd. The REC caught up with Sarah to see how she felt to be the top student:
How did you get into recruitment?
I worked in generalist HR positions before moving across to recruitment in December 2012. Recruitment was the area that I found most interesting and wished to concentrate on and progress further.
What do you enjoy most about being in recruitment?
I enjoy the fast pace of recruitment with the challenge to deliver quality candidates within tight deadlines. Most of all, I find recruitment extremely rewarding. It is a great feeling when you have built up a good relationship with a candidate and then go on to help them secure their ‘dream’ role.
Why did you choose to sit the cert?
Whilst I had general knowledge within the area of Employment Law from working in HR, I was very keen to sit the certificate in order to gain a thorough grounding in recruitment best practice.
How did you prepare for the exam?
I made a study plan and broke up the learning into small chunks. The coursework and example exam paper were useful in order to test my knowledge and highlight areas where I needed to revisit sections of the course book.
How did you feel when you got your results and found out you were top student?
I was a little nervous about receiving my results so I was delighted to learn that not only had I passed but was also the top student in the certificate exams. I was extremely pleased and very happy that the hard work had paid off!
How do you think this will impact on your role/career?
I found the training days extremely useful in understanding the practical application of the recruitment information andtheories outlined in the course book. It was also helpful to meet with other new recruiters and share and learn from each other’s recruitment experiences. I feel the course has been beneficial in increasing my knowledge and therefore my confidence as a recruitment professional and has motivated me to continue to learn and improve further.
Are you planning to take any further qualifications?
Whilst I am still in the process of applying all that I learnt during my Certificate in Recruitment Practice course, I would certainly look to take further qualifications in the future to ensure my continuous personal learning and development.
