Press releases
World’s largest job site, Indeed, announced as REC’s campaign partner
The REC’s Good Recruitment Campaign has received the backing of some of the UK’s most renowned businesses, with Virgin Media, RBS, Direct Line, Hitachi, National Express and Aggreko signing up in recent weeks and making a public commitment to best practice in recruitment.
More than 120 organisations employing more than 1 million staff in the UK have signed the Good Recruitment Charter since the campaign launched, pledging to promote diversity and inclusion, offer flexible working arrangements, provide an excellent candidate experience and lead the way to promote ethical and professional recruitment practices.
The REC has recently entered into a partnership agreement with world’s largest job site, Indeed, as campaign partners for the Good Recruitment Campaign. Indeed is also a signatory to the Good Recruitment Charter as a leading employer.
REC Chief Executive Kevin Green said:
“The Good Recruitment Campaign goes from strength to strength, with HR and businesses leaders queuing up to become ambassadors for the cause because they recognise the value it brings to their employer brand.
“By bringing these organisations together we hope to enable HR professionals and recruiters to share knowledge and become as successful as possible in the attraction and hiring of people. At a time when the UK is at near-full employment, and with the potential for a huge shake up in the form of Brexit, HR experts will play a vital part in shaping economic success over the next few years. I’m looking forward to covering some of these issue at our annual Talent Recruitment and Employment Conference this week.”
Bill Richards, UK Managing Director at Indeed said:
“At Indeed, our mission is to help people get jobs. Jobs transform lives and great people transform businesses. Our partnership with REC showcases employers who have committed to bringing quality to every aspect of the hiring process. We work hand in hand with businesses to improve their approach to recruitment, ensuring positive experiences for jobseekers.”
Val Dale, HR Director at Aggreko said:
“We joined the Good Recruitment Campaign to work on the effectiveness of our recruitment strategies. We’ve already learnt a huge amount from workshops, research, and a rich network of HR and recruitment professionals. We decided to rebuild our entire recruitment processes alongside the Good Recruitment Charter, which has resulted in an enhanced candidate experience, shorter recruitment times, an improved service to hiring managers and significant cost reductions. We highly encourage more businesses to sign up to the charter and support the campaign.”
The new signatories join organisations from across the private and public sectors, including Kellogg’s, Diageo, Yell, PepsiCo, McDonalds, Mercedes-Benz, Santander, First Group, Royal Mail, G4S, RWE npower, Hitachi, LV=, Boots, KFC, EDF Energy, Morrisons, Itsu, EY, River Island, Jaguar Land Rover, Johnson & Johnson, Wincanton, SAB Miller, Leeds NHS Trust and WaterAid. The campaign is also supported by the CIPD, The FIRM, the Institute of Leadership and Management, the Federation of Small Businesses, the Direct Employers Association, the Confederation of Business Industry, NHS Employers and ACAS.

Notes to editors:
1. The REC’s Good Recruitment Campaign has been created by businesses for businesses, and exists to promote the critical importance that good recruitment practice plays in organisational success. As demand returns to the economy and businesses are looking to hire more staff, fine-tuning their resourcing strategies becomes critical. This is the right time to create a national focus on good recruitment. The campaign will help organisations to reinvigorate their recruiting strategies so they provide a better candidate experience and work more effectively with their recruitment partners.
2. More people find jobs on Indeed than anywhere else. Indeed is the #1 job site in the world and allows job seekers to search millions of jobs on the web or mobile in over 60 countries and 28 languages. More than 180 million people each month search for jobs, post resumes, and research companies on Indeed. Indeed is also the #1 source of external hires for thousands of companies (sources: SilkRoad & iCIMS). For more information, visit www.indeed.com
