REC Appoints Totec’s Ed Bates As Director for Wales
Press releases
He will play a pivotal role for the organisation and the recruitment sector by providing practical insight into the jobs market and recruitment industry trends and by building links with politicians, business bodies and other stakeholders in Wales.
In the unpaid post, his aim will be to make sure the industry’s voice continues to be at the forefront of the skills and employment debate in Wales. As part of this work, REC Wales is now a member of the Wales Employment and Skills Board (WESB).
Tom Hadley, REC Director of Policy and Professional Services said:
"Following the referendum in Scotland, the focus on increased autonomy for Wales and other parts of the UK will continue to intensify. As a result, there has never been a more important time to ensure that our industry has a strong collective voice in Wales. We look forward to building on the work of our previous Director here, Philippa George and to working with Ed at a pivotal time for the jobs market and the recruitment industry in Wales".
Ed Bates, Business Development Manager at Totec Recruitment and REC Wales Director said:
"The labour market is improving in Wales but some huge challenges lie ahead, particularly with regards to up-skilling the workforce to meet increasing demand in high end sectors. This is just one of the debates I am keen to feed into by building our links with the Welsh Assembly and DWP officials in Wales. Another of my priorities will be to engage with employers and business organisations to promote the work of responsible agencies and drive the REC's Good Recruitment campaign in Wales".
