UCL is London’s leading multidisciplinary university, with a diverse community of approximately 38,000 students and 12,000 staff from more than 150 countries. Founded in 1826 in the heart of London, UCL was the first university in England to welcome students of any religion, the first to welcome women on equal terms with men, and we were the first to hold both a Silver Athena SWAN award and a Race Equality Charter Bronze Award.
UCL is a research-intensive university and a member of the UK’s Russell Group. We are currently ranked 7th in the world, 3rd in the UK and 1st in London (QS 2018). Furthermore in the most recent Research Excellence Framework (REF) exercise, we were the top-rated UK university for research strength.
We are in a hugely exciting phase of UCL’s history. We are investing in a £1.25 billion capital programme to enhance and develop our spectacular Bloomsbury campus to support the ambition of our academic community. We are also building a new campus, UCL East, on the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, providing an innovative environment that will contribute to the regeneration of east London.
People are at the heart of our success. We truly value their skills and contribution, so in return we offer outstanding professional support, extensive learning opportunities, and an excellent benefits package with wellbeing at the forefront.
