On the 30 July 2014 MTR Crossrail, a 100% owned subsidiary of MTR Corporation, was awarded the concession for operating the new Elizabeth line services across London on behalf of Transport for London (TfL).
MTR Crossrail runs under a Concession Agreement with TfL. The Elizabeth line network will run services connecting the City, Canary Wharf, the West End and Heathrow Airport to commuter areas of east and west London. Services will run from Reading (to the west of London) to Shenfield (to the north east) and Abbey Wood (to the south east) through more than 700 timetabled journeys per weekday.
The company expects to employ more than 1000 people, creating jobs for local people. This will include over 400 train drivers and up to 500 apprenticeships across a number of business functions.
As an operator, we will enhance our customers’ experience, ensuring a safe, reliable and high quality journey whilst actively engaging with the communities that the Elizabeth line will serve.
We aim to be an employer of choice, fostering a company culture whereby we inspire, empower and develop our people to build our business through innovation and continuous improvement.
